RE:ENGAGE // Finding Your Calling after the Crisis
You've come through the crisis. Now what?
We've been in crisis mode for more than a year. Now it feels like were starting to come out of it. But things have changed. The world has changed. What do we do now?
You already know we're not the first people be rocked by a major crisis. In fact, that's something we have in common with the people of the Bible. The prophet Haggai addressed his message to a people who had just come through the biggest crisis in the history of Israel. What did he call them to do? He called them to RE:ENGAGE.
For the next three Sundays, we'll work our way through Haggai's message. We'll learn how God seeks to renew his people after seasons of challenge and difficulty. We'll discover how God follows a crisis with a renewed calling.
This Sunday we're reading Haggai 1:1-15. Click over and read it a couple of times. You'll notice that it's focused on rebuilding God's house - the temple. The temple was the center of worship for the Israelite people. What does that focus on rebuilding the place of worship tell you about what God's priorities are (and what our priorities should be) when his people are coming out of a crisis?
