With our initial founding in 1830 we have a rich history and a bright future. From our children and youth groups to our fifty plus we welcome all to our church family.
Whether you are a first time visitor or have been attending here your whole life, there is just something that happens the moment you walk in the door. It's like walking into a family reunion with hundreds of your brothers and sisters in Christ.
Please take a moment and visit our site. We welcome any questions, and we look forward to seeing you in the near future.
Mark your Calendars! September 23-26 we will be taking photos for our 2015 church pictorial directory. Photo times will be during the afternoon and night for all days. More information will be available next week. You will have the opportunity to sign up either online or at the church beginning Sunday, August 30th. All families photographed will receive a free 8x10 photo as well as a church directory. We know with school starting, this is a busy time for everyone, please go ahead and look at your schedules for possible times!
On Wednesday, Sept. 9th we will begin our Fall Women's Bible Study. The study is Breathe by Priscilla Shirer. It is a 5 week study with video and study book. I feel this will be a lesson that will benefit all of us.
Please let Melissa Ellis know if you would like a book.
Breathe - Making Room for Sabbath
One of the greatest challenges among women in our culture is taking time to stop and cease from all the activities and busyness and just breathe. We are in bondage to busyness. We constantly strive to complete the limitless to-do lists that hinder us from experiencing all that God has for us. We miss the moments because we rush ahead to the next thing. By neglecting time for tranquility, serenity, and repose, we limit our Christlikeness and miss out on some of God's greatest gifts. It is time for us to breathe and build margin into our lives for God. In the Old Testament, God instituted principles and laws that would transform the Israelites' mindset. He didn't just want them legally free; He wanted them to be able to walk in the freedom and enjoy it. So God gave them many gifts, including boundaries in which to enjoy those gifts. Sabbath was intended as a gift, and it is still a gift to us today. If you are weary, worn out, and exhausted the concept of Sabbath will change your life.

Bible Study Times
"We're uncomfortable talking about it. We may try to ignore it or focus our attention on euphemisms: challenges, weaknesses to overcome, struggles, etc. We convince ourselves that the evil in the world is caused by sick people who are nothing like us. ""Sin is real,"" writes the authors of this bestselling workbook. ""It's a part of each of us - even those in the church. ...All social ills are an extension of that which seethes and rages and contorts in the hearts of individuals.""
The Workbook on the Seven Deadly Sins illustrates how sloth, lust, anger, pride, envy, gluttony, and greed are ever-present in individual lives and society. As one reviewer has said, ""What might seem archaic words begin to live again in the context of active faith. This is a study for real people who seek to have a meaningful faith during challenging times.""
This eight-week study for individuals or groups is soundly rooted in scripture and helpful without being judgmental. Become more aware of the expressions of sin in your own life. Discover how Christ brings new life and can deliver you from the impulses that get between you and God.
